Most expensive liquids on earth: Full Spectrum Cannabis derived Terpenes.
Sooooo, whatever happened to that whole cannabis-derived, stain specific terpenes everyone was hyped about a few years ago? I wrote this whole article and by the time I’m putting it out, you can’t even find half of the products I referenced… LOL. Welp, one of the reasons we might not hear about it as much is because it was literally one of the most expensive liquids on earth. I’m not exaggerating, here’s the math:
Back in April 2018, you could get 0.25ml of Blue River terpenes, (which are known to be the world’s finest cannabis-derived terps) from the W9 Tech site for $59USD + $9 shipping. To make this simple, let’s say you get 4 different kinds, that’s $245USD for 1ml of terps.
Now, one gallon fits roughly 3785.41ml. So if you want to know the retail price per gallon, that’s $927,425USD per gallon of terps. Yup, close to a million for one gallon. Now let that sink in…
Looks like these Blue River terps are no longer for sale on the W9 Tech website, or any other retail website that I can find online. I remember Bubbleman had his own pure terp company going and I can’t find those either. I guess people weren’t ready to pay $245USD for 1ml of pure strain-specific terps that contain no THC or CBD. I mean a lot of us did it once and never came back but the whole terp thing didn’t go away…
Many companies started offering cheaper food-grade non-cannabis-derived terpene blends as well as other strain-specific blends using a mix of hemp-derived and high-quality food-grade terps.
The high-end stuff can range anywhere between $50-$90 for 1ml of terps. So to put things into perspective, let’s say on average, you can find some hemp terp blends for $70 an ml, that’s still $264,979 for one gallon of terps, retail price.
Now check this out……
If you type “Most expensive liquid on earth” in Google, this is what you get:
- Black Printer Ink $2,700 per gallon.
- Mercury $3,400 per gallon.
- Insulin $9,400* per gallon.
- Chanel No. 5 $26,000 per gallon.
- Horseshoe Crab Blood $60,000 per gallon.
- Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) $123,000 per gallon.
- King Cobra Venom $153,000 per gallon.
- Scorpion Venom $39,000,000 per gallon.
This makes cannabis-derived terpenes the SECOND most expensive liquid on earth. The only other badass liquid on this planet that costs more is Scorpion Venom at 39M per gallon.
First of all, fuck the printer ink scam. We all know ink is not worth a pound of AAAA+ grade cannabis. Second of all, even at 70$ an ml, it’s still the second most expensive liquid on earth, followed by King Cobra venom which 100K less per gallon….
Why? Because terpenes make up only a tiny part of all the cannabinoids and compounds found in the trichome glands. It takes special equipment to separate it properly without making them change color or have them alter their original profile. They are very volatile and hard to work with, plus they need to be made from high-grade terpene-rich cannabis or sift material which usually costs a lot of money.
So next time you want to impress someone, show them your tiny vial of terps and tell them that you are holding the second most expensive liquid on earth. One that costs close to a million dollars per gallon. They might be impressed, or they might find you completely crazy. Whichever it is, make sure you share the terps.
