Does Cannabis Make you Horny?
Well, if you look at this study by the Stanford University School of Medicine, it seems that people who get lifted on the regular also get up to 20% more sexy time than those who don’t. WHUUUUUT?
According to Michael Eisenberg, the study’s Senior Author, “Frequent marijuana use doesn’t seem to impair sexual motivation or performance. If anything, it’s associated with increased coital frequency”.
The study is based on an analysis of 50,000 Americans (men and women, ages 25-45) which was gathered every year since 2002. It clearly shows that those who blaze more seem to fuck more. But before you get all cocky and start your “I told her so” rants, Michael Eisenbergalso mentions in the article: “It doesn’t say if you smoke more marijuana, you’ll have more sex”.
When such correlations are found in these types of studies, it’s not a definite YES, even if the numbers seem to indicate so. Maybe the people who puff more are just more honest about their sex life. A quick google search can equality yield negative results when linking pot to sex drive and sperm count like this article from CBS News. According to Dr. Niederberger, THC mimics testosterone, so when you blaze, you expose your sperm to a hormonal imbalance that can cause sperm counts to fall. There are also articles such as this one on SexInfo online in which they clearly mention that for many people, cannabis kills the sex drive and makes them more internalized and less close to their partner. Making it hard to initiate sex or deeply connect with the partner during the act.
Here is another study from 2009 in which they surveyed 8,656 Australians aged 16–64 and the conclusion was as stated in the journal: Frequent cannabis use is associated with higher numbers of sexual partners for both men and women, and difficulties in men’s ability to orgasm as desired.
Personally, weed more often than
So the true answer is: Depends on who you are, what you puff and who you have sex with. This stuff is very personal and each individual has their own reaction despite what the studies may indicate. There is a definite answer; it can both make you hella horny or super reclusive. The only way to find out is to go out there and see what is working or not working for you.
